White Rock

Terry and I decided we needed to take some time for ourselves so we chose to drive south to White Rock, one of our favourite cities.

It is right on the ocean and boasts the longest pier in Canada. I was hoping it would be warmer than the 12 degrees we were expecting in Kits but it actually turned quite cold. Thank goodness we layered up and I was very happy for me hat, scarf, and gloves too.

We had a very yummy lunch across from the ocean ( Uli’s) but as we only had a sandwich each with fries and a soft drink it was shocking to get the bill for $64.00!!!!

We saw a heron, a cormorant, lots of puffy dandelions on shore, and clearly visible notches on the railing of the pier from fishermen’s lines.

I must admit that somehow after lunch we ended up at my favourite B.C. clothing store and broke out into ‘retail therapy’ before we drove home…ha ha.

Oh! And check out the display we passed on the way home …..this close to Easter……
