Time For Us

It was a chilly but sunny day when we decided to head out to Fort Langley, one of favourite cities near Vancouver. We had a very good lunch at the “Rail and River” pub (which we’d never been to before) and it was nice to see the Easter Bunny taking a break from all the deliveries she’d recently had to make.

I found some treasures at the local antique store and we purchased a small bag of candy from the local vendor in town too.

Another sunny day we enjoyed a lunch at The Secret Garden Tea House and then went for a drive around Stanley Park. What a beautiful place!

During our last week we found time to spoil ourselves with lunch at a place we’d never been to before. We have our favourites in town but I wanted to branch out so we headed downtown to an absolutely beautiful french restaurant called “Alouette’s”. For the cost of lunch we might have flown to Paris to eat it….ha ha….but it was truly a wonderful, 2 hour experience with fresh sourdough bread and housemade butter to start. A lovely glass of red wine for me and Pellegrino for Terry. We both ordered the Coq o Vin as our main course …which was delicious….and then even ordered dessert! Terry tried his first Crépe Suzette (which looked amazing) and I had a first rate Creme Bruleé with tea and coffee for Terry.

The decor could be described as artistically cozy. We felt very comfortable there. The music was appropriate but not too loud. We never felt rushed and the staff were lovely too.

It was a nice way to end our last week in Kits.
