A Very Happy Birthday
Growing old doesn’t feel too bad when you feel so loved!
My birthday is always in and around Mother’s Day too so I find that I get lots of lovely calls and even gifts from my four wonderful grown children.
This year I got to have an early ‘birthday’ lunch with Terry and our daughter, Emily. It is always so great to be with her and fun to eat out at one of my favourite places “The Cactus Club”. But BOY was I surprised when she gave me the birthday present she prepared for me…….
I always carry her in my heart but she will forever carry me….on her ARM! (Thank-you, Emma).
On my actual birthday Terry and I went to a brand new tea house….actually near our house! It is called Lady Bea’s.
We sat down in the biggest room on the main floor and it was fun for me to look at the attention to detail everywhere. Lots of flowers, teapots, things for sale like jewelry, hats, um….teapots…and so much more. There is another adjoining room and more upstairs too.
As you most likely know I’m the queen of loving tea houses so of course we had to order ‘high tea’ or afternoon tea as it is properly called.
Our server eventually brought over our unique tea service which was filled with all the usual goodies from finger sandwiches to sweets. We shared a big teapot of Irish Tea that day and by the time we started to eat, the room was really filling up. We had arrived right at noon.
I would probably give the food itself a 7 out of 10 (I’ve had yummier sandwiches and sweets elsewhere) but the tea and scones were perfect.
Here is a bit of information about afternoon tea and the new owner for you….
P.S. The service was excellent and I even received two, wee birthday gifts in the form of a tea sachet and a lovely little bag of tiny candies.
In the late afternoon we went to see the movie “The Sheep Detectives”. (I couldn’t find a clear image of the poster except for this Spanish one…ha ha). It was very cute and good for most ages.
