New York!
We spent a delightful long weekend in New York and it was sensory overload! Our hotel was right around the corner from Times Square so the people watching was at a premium. (I even got interviewed by some network television host about a wedding show that was taking place to advertise Taiwanese food.)
Lots of fun street food and costumed characters to be seen. We made some new friends with our brunch staff at the Holiday Inn.
On the Friday evening we took the ‘cab ride from hell’ out to Long Island to see a premiere of our co-producer’s (for DREAM) new musical “Feels Like The First Time” based on the music of Foreigner. We did not expect the HUGE rainstorm as we hustled into the building (100 yards from where we were dropped off) but the rainbows were gorgeous and the play was long but fun.
Above is one of the original members of Foreigner and us with our co-producer, Jeff Perry!
The next day we toured around Central Park. It was a gorgeous day.
And OF COURSE Terry got chosen to participate in a ‘Street Performers’ type show….ha ha.
I think the 4 photos after our above are some of my favourites of the trip! That evening and the next we treated ourselves to 2 Broadway shows!
“M.J.” the Michael Jackson musical was beyond amazing! Wow! The next night we saw “Operation Mincemeat” based on a true story of how a group of folks stopped Hitler. It was also wonderful.
On Monday, Terry had an important meeting to attend in Long Island so while he was taking the train out to talk about DREAM, I did some exploring around.
A quick trip but lots of fun as you can see. And we certainly didn’t expect to return home to…….snow one day later!
