A Brief Visit to Windsor
Terry and I always have a dozen reasons for wanting to fly ‘home’ to Windsor. Not the least of which is to be with our aging parents again.
But this year we added to that a couple of big reunions!
While Terry was meeting up with his graduating class from 1975 at a nearby pub I was picked up by my bestea, Barb, to attend a 30th anniversary of our high school friend, Pat’s dance troupe recital.
First of all though, we enjoyed a delicious pizza at Terra Cotta which was just around the corner from the gorgeous Capitol Theatre.
Our dear friend, Peter Hrastovec (Poet Laureate of Windsor) was the M.C. for the event so that was another special treat for me!
Peter was funny and eloquent as usual and he wrote a brand new poem for the event. Pat’s show was incredible! This amateur group gave us about 6 updated classic dances from their past recitals and they did a great job. Hard to believe someone my age could dance so gracefully but Pat was just lovely up there on the stage. Great music, direction, lighting, and costumes too. We even ran into 2 more of our high school friends after the show!
Terry had a wonderful evening as well with his class and the next evening we both went to Caesar’s Casino Ballroom to celebrate the 155th reunion of the entire school where 700 alumni showed up!
To be continued……
