Kits for New Years!
Terry and I flew to Vancouver to spend some ‘Christmas time’ at New Year’s Eve week.
It was a nice day to fly in but because of the delay (as there ALWAYS is with flights now) we only had just enough time to drop our bags off at the front desk of the hotel and turn around and meet up with some of the adult family members for dinner before the movie.
Movie?
That’s correct. Our daughter, L, also flew in from her Christmas visiting in Detroit with her hubby and organized dinner and a 3D movie experience for the newest/3rd Avatar.

Oh yes, we knew it was going to be pretty bad. The second one sucked some of the life out of me….ha ha. And for the 1st half an hour ….I loved it! Absolutely, mind blowingly beautiful scenes and the 3D looked SO real.
But after that the best part about the movie was sitting near my family and listening to us giggle and groan over the horrible script. I can NOT believe I sat through about 4 hours of digital fighting scenes. UGH! Ha ha. But …..what are you gonna do? Sometimes you just have to see…all the “Rocky” movies, etc.
The next day we all gathered at J’s home to have a little Christmas exchange with our Vancouver and Seattle families.
The wee ones liked all of their ‘jammies’ from us and crafts and our men seemed to like their fleece jackets. I got TOTALLY spoiled by J and S with a HUGE new computer!
That evening my throat started to feel sore. R’uh R’oh.
I told Terry that we had to leave about 2 hours later because I seemed to be getting worse and worse. By the time we were half way back to the hotel we had to ask the Uber driver to pull over so I could be sick.
Then we got another driver to finish the journey….and I was sick again . Yikes. Needless to say I missed New Year’s Eve with the family . Terry enjoyed their company for a lovely dinner at a Ramen restaurant and then they returned to D’s home to play their new SURVIVOR board game by Jeff Probst!
The next morning Terry wished me a “Happy New Year!” and I was so out of it that I asked why he was wishing that one day early!
For the next few days we both slept so much and I think that helped us shake the worst of the bug from our systems.
Happy New Year, my friends!
