Another Wonderful Weekend
I wonder why I love May so much? Ha ha. Clearly a rhetorical question. Family, friends, sun, flowers, fun.
Once again I had the blessing of getting away to our favourite VRBO with my best friends from high school. Some of us feel like our bodies are letting us down but we still made it happen and it was oh so worth it.
I met Rose in Woodstock on Thursday at noon and drove us out to a wonderful little tea house she found called The Crafty Corner where we enjoyed ‘high tea’ and the anticipation of meeting our other friends later that day.
The proprieto of the tea house told us we needed to be “queens for a day’ so we obliged by trying on crowns…ha ha.
It wasn’t the best tea house I’ve ever been to but it was fabulous company! ( And hard to go wrong with tea and sweets!)
It was a rainy day/weekend but it was not too bad by the time we had to lug in our bags. Our friend, Barb, showed up almost at the same time as us!
As usual there were lots of lush gardens to enjoy and the animals and birds enjoyed it too!
After Mary arrived and we were all unpacked we cooked the (half cooked) pizza she purchased and it tasted so good. That night was just rested and caught up on our lives.
The weekend was filled with stories, prayer, laughter, games, and good food. We at one time or another had all thought about being nuns in our younger years so I thought it might be fun to try the game I found called “Nuns on the Run”.
Fail.
It had TEN pages of rules and even reading them almost put me to sleep. Ah well. We had lots of laughs at the cover of the box!
Another thing we enjoy doing is having a bit of a birthday celebration and going to a play or musical. This year, after mass, we went to the Drayton Theatre’s production of “The Full Monty” and this musical was top notch. We all really enjoyed it!
Puddicombe House was a delight to experience before the show. Such a gorgeous place….with delicious food and drink!
So much beauty to see in the area too…..
……and it’s back to Zoom. I will miss you…..
