In The Pews
I guess we’re at that age where many of our friends are ….well….moving on to their next adventures. (Dying!)
Recently, we had a funeral and a celebration of life to attend…..for THREE friends!
Our dear friend, Judy, had been so ill with Parkinson’s and dementia for many years. Our friend, Paul also died from complications due to dementia and then…20 days later his wife, our friend, Gloria died!
We will miss them all so much.
As always, the ‘good’ part about attending these kind of events is getting together with the living and reminiscing about the ones who left us. We had nice visits with our friends whom we met through my pool classes. The first visit was at Judy’s celebration of life. The next visit was the following day and we decided to head to the McDonald’s where Gloria would meet up with the pool gals after class.
We are SO blessed to know these wonderful folks!
That week we went to morning mass on Tuesday, Evening mass on Thursday, Friday for Judy, Adoration at the Basilica that evening, Saturday funeral, and then Sunday mass. Lots of times for bums in the pews!
One other little story for you….Terry and I got our eyes checked for glaucoma. ‘Happy to say we don’t have it. Check out our funny dilated eyeballs and the sunglasses they gave me to head back outside with……
