Good-bye to the Ark!
It was time for another road trip and I had some good news…..and bad news!
The good news is that I discovered a really interesting café within an hour of home. The bad news is that I discovered it on the last day of their business!
We drove out to the “Ark Café” on a lovely, rare sunny day. It was in an industrial area and I found out about it because a friend had been there. It looked like nothing from the outside….but from the inside it was like stepping into a story book……
Everything was painted from the floors to the chairs and tabletops! It was all in black in white and the images seemed to be either biblical or café related. We saw ‘Adam and Eve’, “Noah”, “Jesus, separating the waters” and many more. Our outfits stood out pretty well against the cartoonish backgrounds.
We spoke with the owner and a couple of her children and they have other small, local businesses keeping they busy enough. And the owner’s daughter was the painter!
We both enjoyed a unique Hawaiian sandwich and split a chocolate croissant for dessert. Best wishes to the owners of the Ark!
