A Boyle Turns Into Redwater

Sorry about the title. It just made me giggle.

We went on another road trip with a random direction with the idea of going to a random Alberta city. Boyle was the destination but we only made it as far as the town of Redwater.

There were so many beautiful country-type scenes along the way and our “Yesteryear” book was still playing in the car to keep us company after prayers.

We stopped in Gibbons to play our Tile Rummy game along the way. Boy! Gibbons is SUCH a small, one road town!

Then we stopped in Redwater to have a tasty quesadilla at Kick’s Saloon. We were almost the only ones there except for an older couple drinking beers right beside 2 young men who kept smashing their fists into this boxing bag game. I can’t believe they didn’t care how loud they were…..and that the couple didn’t move!!!! But our waitress was wearing the correct t-shirt…ha ha. After lunch we explored the town and enjoyed the pretty scenes….and hilarious sign!

It is fun for me to capture images of old windows and broken down buildings.

It is sad how many buildings in the town were closed and boarded up.

Even weeds can look pretty on a sunny day….(if they’re not in your yard….ha ha).

Soon, it was time to head home as Terry had an evening meeting. Love our small towns!

On the way back another storm cell appeared on the horizon and you guessed it….more rain!

P.S. Happy birthday to my incredible husband, Terry, today.

P.P.S. Praying for my sister, Paula, to have a perfectly successful knee replacement today.

AND…another Happy Birthday to my bestie, Rosie.
