43!

We wanted to keep things simple for our anniversary this year.

Our ideas were that we would go to the studio and paint together in the afternoon and then head out to Elk Island for a picnic supper.

Things didn’t turn out as planned but I’m sure they were way better!

In the morning Terry and I started the day off with morning mass at 8:30 am. . I didn’t think the day could start off any better than that but we received a wonderful blessing from Fr. Dean after the service. We stood in front of the altar and he read out the official blessing and prayed over us. Boy! It was SO beautiful.

After mass we hippety hopped over to Hap’s for breakfast and when our Hap’s friends found out it was our anniversary they wouldn’t let us pay for our meal. Wow!

By this point we knew what our day would look like and it wasn’t the original plan. I actually buzzed over to Propaganda Hair to have an impromptu hair straightening while Terry power washed to back deck in anticipation of our evening guests. In the meantime, some gorgeous flowers arrived for me from Terry and Callia Flowers.

After the hair straightening (which took TWO hours….yikes!) we changed our lunch plans to somewhere closer. I drove us to Manchester Square where we had a yummy lunch and I introduced Terry to Marina whom I had recently met with my sister, Paula. After lunch she brought over a free, beautiful, and delicious dessert for us.

Next up groceries and getting the house ready for …..company! Paula’s family was in town from Toronto and we hosted them for a ribs, corn on the cob dinner followed by key lime pie (from Vi’s for Pies) .

They spoiled us so much by bringing us a massive basket of ingredients to make a couple of amazing Italian dinners and they also brought over sweet desserts in the form of cannolis and cream puffs!

Paula also brought over the yummy salad that night. It was lovely to see her daughter and meet Brit’s husband and their 3 year old boy. What a fun evening of good food, music, and being in the company of those you love.

Looking forward to seeing what this next year will bring.
