Great Friends Getaway

As I write this, the very special weekend with my 3 wonderful Youth Corps friends is already over. It really zoomed by this year and it is hard not to feel a bit sad about leaving so much joy.

I love that Mary brings the (only half baked) pizza on the Thursday night so that we can cook it fresh for dinner when we all arrive in Bright, Ontario. I am from Edmonton, Mary is from Calgary, Barb is from Windsor, and Rosemary is from Waterloo.

Rosie and I met up in Woodstock to go to lunch at a wonderful golf club near our Air B & B.

When I look at this photo I am reminded of how beautiful Rose is….outside AND in! We had a blast catching up about our enjoyment of Season 50 of Survivor and our lunch was yummy.

Soon it was time to head over to Bright where we met up with the other girls and it was time to unpack and stock up the kitchen!

We always had tons (TONS) of healthy foods to choose from (and some ‘not so healthy’ snacks from me..haha.)We had so much fun catching up and playing SO many fun board games which we love to do!

The next day we took in a show at the St. Jacob’s Playhouse, “And Then There Were None”. It was really really well done. Thanks, Rosemary, for booking our adventures. Dinner was good too. We didn’t suffer for bad meals this trip.

One of the things that strengthens our friendships is our belief in Jesus and our shared prayer lives. We enjoyed going out on the pretty deck and praying our rosary together. Thank-you for leading us in prayer, Barb!

The laughter we share, the good food we enjoy, the entertaining games, our faith, and of course our love keeps us going. I’m SO blessed to have these gorgeous women in my life.

Saturday evening mass was lovely, our dinner at Tempo was good, and all too soon Sunday arrived and it was time to depart.

Until next time, my wonderful friends,

thank-you for your love and care for me.
