Closing Night of DREAM!

The weather was perfect as our two car loads of friends and family headed back down to Rosebud, Alberta.

After a lovely week with my sisters I was excited all over again to show them DREAM at its best. We had another delicious buffet dinner before the show, were entertained and served by various cast members, and then walked over to the Opera House to get our tickets for the show which started at 8 pm..

Every review I read of the musical all summer was outstanding. We heard that some people were coming again and again and bringing friends and family members. One man told us he’d been six times! I myself saw this version four times and I still teared up at the touching parts and laughed out loud at the comedic ones. The cast had jelled so well by the last show that it was even more fantastic than when I had seen it a few weeks before!

After the show we gathered in the Mercantile once again for a bit of an after party.

There were some short ‘thank-you” speeches and then Terry handed out gifts to every single cast member and our stage manager, Brad, who had been with us from the start. Terry painted and framed 12 unique paintings depicting country scenes and used his new style which I nicknamed “Swirly”. Everyone was very surprised and happy!

I surprised Terry with something I had made for him…..his very own action figure! Ha Ha.

The family retired back to the Rosebud Country Inn and Terry and I moved on to the ‘‘after AFTER party” at Aaron’s, the man who played “The Songwriter”.

He and his wife invited all the cast to this potluck and we all sat around the firepit, eating snacks, and enjoying the stories about the run. It was really fun.

The next morning we had another lovely breakfast at B.J.’s and then took the sisters on a meandering trip home through Drumheller, the Badlands/Hoodoos, and a bit of antique shopping as well.

My sisters are back home now. I will be forever grateful for these beautiful, talented women and the love we share. Here are a few more photos of our way back home after Sunday morning mass in Drum.

p.s. Paula took her crew separately from us but somehow we ALL ended up at the exact same Boston Pizza at 2:30 p.m. for lunch!
