My Favourite Day
I have always loved dressing up.
And not just in a formal way ….but in costumes. I think I won 1st place in every costume competition I entered! Nowadays social media stars make big bucks for their makeup techniques. There is a whole streaming show about it called “Glow Up”. (Ding Dong, Darling!)
In my youth I did a lot of theatre makeup for myself and others. Now it’s pretty much regulated to once a year: Hallowe’en!
A couple of weeks ago Terry, Albert and I headed over to The Spirit Of Halloween. I can’t believe I’ve never been in one of those massive box stores before but we decided to take a look for Terry’s idea.
There were a LOT of creepy, giant things to scare you in there. Yikes! Little ones were walking around like all the severed limbs were just common place! And I also noticed that the prices were really really high!
I have always made my own costumes from bits that I would collect from second hand stores or sewn myself. I can’t believe how many parents were buying these costumes for their children. Wowza!
I am looking forward to dressing up for a photo to send to our children….and grandchildren…who will also be dressing up. And of course giving out the treats to our door visitors on Hallowe’en.
Happy Haunting!
