Dream Bus

It was a bit overcast when we left on our adventure to Rosebud by bus but with every seat full(56!) and each person gifted a water and a fresh muffin, we were excited and comfortable for our 4 hour drive south.

We had people from church and my sister’s church, from two of my aquafit pools, friends of friends, and even our good friend, Bev from Victoria B.C. who was visiting with us. After a quick bathroom stop in Red Deer we continued on, the sun came out, and we made it to the buffet lunch in plenty of time thanks to the great driving of Jason, our bus driver.

Lots of approval from our guests about the delicious lunch and dessert options aplenty. Before we knew it, it was time to get over to the Opera House for ….DREAM! Really cool to see the wee model of the stage on the wall as we entered the theatre space. Terry randomly handed out the seat location tickets and soon, the lights dimmed and the musical began.

What can I say? It was the third time I’d seen the play and if anything it was even better than before. I cried and giggled SO many times. What an incredible story based on Terry’s father, Ed’s life. The sold out ,matinee audience responded well to every scene and the accolades were well deserved after the show. Terry signed quite a few programs!

Long day so we pretty much had to load up (after taking a couple of photos with some cast members!) and move over to the bottom of the road leading to our friends’ B.J. and Ken’s B & B The Country Inn. There Terry and a friend picked up the homemade pies that we had pre-ordered for the return trip.

A super experience and I’m SO proud of my husband,Terry, for sharing his family’s story with us …and also for Rosebud for choosing to take a chance on an unknown playrite.
