15 Years A Priest
We have been blessed with a young priest named Fr. Dean Dowle. This week we celebrated his 15th year as a priest.
Dean is SUCH a good man. He has a strong faith and a strong commitment to our Catholic values. I love that he is true to himself and our church.
Many families have returned to our parish and our church is flourishing with young children and full pews.
Speaking of pews , Fr. Dean wanted to give us new ones because the old ones were at the stage where cracks were actually pinching our bums and nails were snagging our clothing. He has repeatedly come up with fun fundraising ideas for our church and one of my personal favourites was when he had 3 of our altar girls dress up with ‘Princess Leia’ hairstyles . Before mass they came before us while making ‘shooting’ sounds like….’ Pew. Pew. Pew.’ “ We need new…..PEWS!” Then some of the men walked up the aisle like Darth Vader and his gang and said that we must give to get them. It was SO cute ….and it worked….ha ha.

Fr. Dean has organized themed dinners, car shows, barbeques, and so much more…… and in the meantime does everything else a good priest does like leading all the masses himself, performing all the sacraments, and being a mentor and friend to most.
Fr. Dean has his degree in Canon law and has taught at the Seminary and studied in Rome.
Happy 15th, Fr. Dean. May you always feel loved and appreciated.
