Storm Heaven Concert!
Concert day came zooming forward like a loose train car on a track. Not that long ago I had years/months to rehearse ….and all of a sudden….it was THE day!
I did my best with the stage makeup and the sisters surprised me with their matching outfits! Our soundcheck went very very well but it actually took the whole 2 hours that we had booked.
Again, before we knew it, the audience started to arrive. I was absolutely thrilled to know that all four of my children and our son-in-law, Jeff, would be in attendance! (4 of them had to fly in!) Paula and Albert purchased a brand new rainstick for the actual ‘Storm Heaven’ song! The stage was one of the show stoppers because it is gorgeous and includes the largest pipe organ in Western Canada!
I figure from the looks of it we had about 70-75 people in attendance…from all walks of our life. Church folks, pool friends, neighbours, etc.
The band sounded pretty great and although I got distracted and was not perfect in all my lyrics I don’t think most people noticed.
After the show and tear down I invited our band and our family to Boston Pizza where Terry and I treated everyone to a meal. Tricia, the cajon player and my children surprised me with beautiful flowers.
We also brought in a surprise cake for our oldest guy who was having a birthday!
I feel so honoured….and relieved that the evening is over. Certainly another highlight of my life!
