Hathaway’s and José José’s

It’s funny that Terry and I have now been to the new diner, Hathaway’s twice already within a couple of days…ha ha. But it seemed to be just the right place to meet up with our daughters to say….au revoir. I also really enjoyed a lovely tea time with my new friend, Tricia, from Bay 1 Gallery AND she brought over the cajon her husband made for her. So: of course we had to invite her to rehearse my new music with us. Oh! We also spent some of our week getting ready to give items we no longer use to the church garage sale. The ladies there work SO hard to price and categorize all of the items. It’s a HUGE job.I took a cute photo of 2 of them below.

One evening we felt like going out and about instead of down to the cozy tv room. So we purchased last minute tickets to a Tony Award winning musical at the Citadel Theatre called The 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee. It was very very good with a great cast and funny script. The music itself advanced the story but was forgettable. This didn’t take away our enjoyment though. On the way home the sky was beautiful too.

Sunday is always a lovely day with mass, then brunch, and my beloved Zoom call with my besties. On the Monday we had a fun road trip!

We drove out to Red Deer to meet our friend, Marie, from Calgary. We met there so we each had to only drive half way to have a visit. I randomly chose a place called José, José and it turned out to be a bit of a gem! Although it was listed as a ‘Latin’ restaurant it was decorated with a mix of that and images and items from Africa and other countries. It was overly decorated (which was fun), and Mary served us delicious lunches. (I ordered the quesadilla with refried beans and rice.) We enjoyed a wonderful two hour visit and decided we would return for sure. And Mary brought over free cupcakes for dessert!
